Ways To Give
There are multiple ways to make an impact at Florida Polytechnic University. Your gift can also reflect the areas you are most passionate about—research, student ventures, scholarships and more. Here are some of the ways to support us:
Double or even triple your gift by donating through your employer’s matching gift program. Many employers offer matching gift programs for charitable contributions made by employees, retirees and spouses. Find out if your company participates in matching gift programs.
With gifts of appreciated securities—stocks, bonds or mutual funds that have increased in value—you can support Florida Poly while earning an income tax deduction equal to the fair market value. A capital gains tax may not apply to the transfer. Consult with your financial advisor to learn more.
Florida Poly accepts gifts of personal property with a qualified appraisal, such as antiques, fine art, electronics or musical instruments. These gifts will be accepted in accordance with our gift acceptance policy.
Your residence or other real estate property can be given to Florida Poly now or as a planned gift. As an added benefit, you may give your home to Florida Poly and still retain the right to live in it, an option called retained life estate.
If you are a Florida Poly faculty or staff member, you can support your University by making a gift through payroll deduction. Visit the Development page on Florida Poly Pulse and select the Faculty/Staff Payroll Deduction Form in the Quick Links section.
Legacy giving is crucial to the growth of the University. You can include Florida Poly in your estate plans, and leave a lasting impression on the University and future students. Your gift will continuously strengthen the areas in which you are most passionate.
A bequest is a gift made from your estate and may be in the form of cash, securities or other property. Florida Poly may also be outlined as a beneficiary of your retirement or life insurance policy. Annual Giving provides financial support to students every day and is a crucial source of funding for the University. Any unrestricted gifts received during the year will be directed to our Annual Giving campaign.
Any unrestricted gifts received during the year go directly toward funding the University’s priorities. These gifts may be made once or multiple times through a recurring donation.

Support the University through an interactive giving level that provides you or your organization the opportunity to connect with the leaders of the Florida Polytechnic University Foundation. As the University grows, the Florida Poly Fellows are more important than ever. A named professorial chair is one of the highest forms of recognition that a faculty member can receive. Such endowments allow Florida Poly to offer competitive salaries to exceptional faculty members and provide well-equipped research facilities.
Endowed funds for visiting professorships allow Florida Poly to invite distinguished educators and scientists to visit campus. These leaders can engage with students and collaborate with members of the faculty to further STEM research.
Endowments for faculty start-ups provide vital funds that support research, renovate laboratory spaces and purchase equipment for new members of the Florida Poly faculty.
Lectureship funds bring distinguished speakers to campus to engage in discussion with students and faculty.
Endowed graduate fellowships enable Florida Poly to recruit exceptional graduate students and empower them to follow their research passions.
Phoenix Funds allow Florida Poly to maintain a competitive edge by furnishing faculty and administrative leaders with flexible resources. In turn, campus leaders can make smart investments in research that might otherwise be abandoned for lack of funding.
- General Scholarship
- Awarded to students with the greatest need and highest merit. It allows students to attend Florida Poly and graduate without the added pressure of financial debt.
- Presidential Scholarship
- Provides $16,000, covering all expenses, for the students who win the President’s Club Scholarship Competition. In this competition, participants must present a solution to a current problem in society. Winners are graded upon innovation, rationale/impact, value, presentation, a question and answer session, and style.
- The Johnson Scholarship
- Awarded to students with documented disabilities and demonstrated financial need. Matching funds from the Johnson Scholarship Foundation allow your gift to be doubled for students.
- First Generation Scholarship
- Awarded to students who are the first in their family to pursue a degree. Matching funds allow your gift to be doubled for students.
- College of Engineering Scholarship
- Awarded to students pursuing degrees within the College of Engineering
- College of Innovation & Technology Scholarship
- Awarded to students pursuing degrees within the College of Innovation and Technology
- Lake Wales Scholarship
- Awarded to incoming freshmen graduating from Lake Wales High School.
- Joshua D. Crowder Memorial Scholarship
- Awarded to incoming freshman graduating from any public high school in Leon County, Florida pursuing a degree in the College of Innovation and Technology.
